Tufts is now requiring vaccination against COVID-19 for ALL faculty, staff, vendors, and affiliates. More Information
How do I order PPE (personal protective equipment) for my staff or department?
Tufts Purchasing department has set up procedures to centrally stock a number of PPE items needed to keep the university safe and healthy, including masks (disposable and N95, which are just for clinical and labs), disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer/liquid gel, gloves, and cleaning supplies.
Please contact your department administrator who should have access to a form to request these items. If they do not have access to the form or you have a special request, please email email@example.com.
What steps is the university taking any steps to increase or change cleaning protocols?
The university has proactively instituted enhanced cleaning and disinfecting procedures in response to emerging viral pathogens; these include the application of EPA-approved disinfectants on communal, high-use surfaces. We stand ready to alter these practices as CDC guidance and/or the situation at Tufts changes. In the event that deeper environmental cleaning becomes necessary, the university is working with an outside vendor to ensure that this can be done swiftly and thoroughly.
Dispensers throughout campus are being restocked with CDC-recommended hand sanitizer, and we will install additional dispensers as needed. We continue to monitor our inventory of hand soap, disinfectant, sanitizer and paper products to ensure uninterrupted availability of these products throughout campuses.
Are bathroom occupancies still single-use, or are they back to pre-Covid occupancies?
Effective June 1, 2021, the university removed limits on the size of indoor and outdoor gatherings, and individuals are no longer required to remain six or more feet apart outdoors or indoors (with the continued use of masks indoors regardless of vaccination status). Standard pre-COVID room occupancy limits apply, including in restrooms.
Are we required to disinfect surfaces, such as desk spaces and instrumentation before and after using them?
The university will continue to provide disinfecting wipes to students and to school departments upon request and make them available in all university buildings. Students, faculty, and staff should continue to wipe down their immediate work surfaces before and after use.
Are stairways and hallways still one-way, or are these back to normal as well?
Effective June 1, 2021, the university removed limits on the size of indoor or outdoor gatherings and individuals are no longer required to remain six or more feet apart outdoors or indoors (with the continued use of masks indoors regardless of vaccination status). Standard pre-COVID room occupancy limits apply, and hallways and stairwells are back to pre-COVID use.
